About us
Mhong Treeはチェンマイ郊外に住んでいる地元の女性たちと一緒に北タイの文化からインスピレーションをえて衣料雑貨を制作してきました。彼女達は普段は観光客のためのお土産品を作って生計を立てていますが、観光シーズンから外れる時期（3月-10月）には生活がとても苦しくなります。そんな彼女達の生活向上のために、Mhong Treeは１年を通してバランスよく彼女達が仕事ができるようにと考えています。お客様のMhong Tree商品のお買い上げが彼女達をサポートに繋がっています。 2021年5月現在、コロナ禍の折、村のモンのお母さん達の生活や考え方が変化したため、Mhong Treeはここで一旦ピリオドを打つことにいたしました。Mhong Treeの活動を行なった結果は、以下のような成果を出しました。
村内の女性たちの縫製のチーム/コミュニティーの確立
女性たちの縫製技術習得
子供たちへ高等教育を与えることの理解と経済力の保持
実際のその子供たちのバンコクの専門学校、チェンマイの短大、大学への進学（３名）
今後も女性たちのみの伝で縫製の仕事を受けられる繋がりの開拓
以上です。何の知識もないまま最初は三人で始めたMhong Treeでしたが、今ではグループとなり自分たちでもなんとかやっていけるようになったようです。これもみなさまが長年Mhong Treeを支えてくださった結果です。本当にありがとうございました。
※2023年11月ー12月のYoko-Sonyaの個展(姫路・東京 )で、Mhong Treeの初期メンバーの一人Ms.Miiと一緒に新しく作りました商品を期間限定POP-UPストアで販売いたします。品数は少ないですが、縫製力を上げたMs.Miiの丁寧に作り上げた商品をどうぞお手にとってご覧になってください。

From our hands to your hands….
We produce only what we really love.
From first glance, our products look just like simple clothing. And actually it is very simple indeed,it is a timeless design. It is sewn with the flat felled seam/ french seam which makes the pants last longer and gives a beautiful outline from your shoulder to hip, from your waist to hip, and from the hip to your feet. The material used for our products are mostly linen or good quality cotton. That gives you a gentle touch on your skin and a cozy feeling to get the air goes through. We also collect scraps from the process of producing our product and put together to recreate for other products. The rebirth of upcycling the leftover fabric is that there is less of an impact on the environment. Scraps destined for the dump are rescued and remade into something useful and enjoyable.
長年のアトピーの経験から、肌触り・通気性の良いコットンガーゼやリネンで身体に負担をかけないゆったりとした心地の良いデザインの衣類や小物、ガーゼケットなどを昔ながらのしっかりした縫製方法”折り伏せ縫い”でひとつひとつ丁寧にお作りしています。制作過程ででた端切れも無駄なくアップサイクルで新しい息を吹き込んで楽しい商品を作っています。
